The last concert of the season takes place tomorrow – Thursday 30th June at the City Hall with a rare chance to hear the organ in full glory.
Organist James Jones joins conductor Robert Moody for the Poulenc Concert for Organ, Timpani and Strings. The programme also includes Dvorak’s Carnival Overture and the wonderful Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky.
The rehearsal is open at 11 and tickets can be bought in advance (only) through Quicket at this link: https://www.quicket.co.
All money raised by FOM from the rehearsals goes towards the running costs of the orchestra.
In addition our next fundraising drive is already upon us with the FOM Gala concert on Tuesday 12th July with soloists Daniel Rowland and his wife Maja Bogdanovich, conducted by Bernhard Gueller. This concert will be a true celebration and we urge you to not only buy tickets but also contribute to our ‘sponsor a musician’ for the evening. Contact us for the list of who will be playing in the orchestra for this concert and you can have your name in the programme as having ‘sponsored’ their seat for the night. From R5000 for the soloist Maja through to R400 for other musicians in the orchestra line-up.
