Dear Music Lovers

Our first fundraising soiree in nearly three years is sold out! We want to thank all those who will be joining us next week and also assure those who missed the chance, that we will be having more concerts and talks during the year and will keep you posted ahead of time.

But April is filled with music – apart from the mix of Easter concerts –  the new CPO Autumn symphony season starts on Thursday 13th. FOM will once again be helping at the rehearsals where all funds raised go directly to the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and you can book for these rehearsals through Quicket. Tickets are R125 and R65 for students. FOM members can also get a small discount per ticket – email info@fomct.com for more details.
Another date for your diary: The Cape Town Concert Series are presenting highlights of chamber music recently performed at the Franschhoek Chamber Festival by members of the CPO.  The concert date has changed from what was originally advertised due to the Two Oceans marathon taking place.  The concert will now be at 11am on Saturday 22 April in the Baxter Concert Hall.
Hearing Mendelssohn’s Octet for Strings, Dvorak’s Serenade for Winds and Gabrieli Sonata Pian e Forte for Brass Ensemble in one concert is a unique and rare occurrence – not to be missed.  Tickets are on sale at Webtickets and FOM Members can email info@ctconcerts.co.za for an additional R20 discount per ticket.
Kind regards
