Also a reminder that our first glittering soiree takes place on Sunday 14 April in association with Bowmans, to raise funds for our orchestral development projects.  We will also hold our Annual General Meeting at 17h15 before the soiree, and you should have already received information on this in a previous email.

These special evenings take place on the 11th floor of the Bowmans’ Cape Town office, where guests will be greeted to a sunset drink overlooking the city, before settling down to a concert featuring some of South Africa’s finest musicians. Thereafter wine and lavish canapes supplied by Bowman’s own chef.

The Autumn Sunset Soiree features the piano duo Francois Botha and Johan Chun who created ‘Best of Both’ to explore the possibilities of performing classical and jazz music in the same programme, while striving to retain the authenticity and originality of each work they play.  For our soiree they will join forces with one of the most sought-after saxophonists in the country- Dan Shout, to present a programme that celebrates composers who excelled in, and were influenced by both jazz and classical music. George Gershwin, Claude Debussy, and Maurice Ravel will be represented alongside jazz greats Duke Ellington and Dave Brubeck.

Start time- 6 for 6.30pm. Bowmans’ Cape Town Office, 22 Bree Street, Cape Town.
Free secure guest parking available.
Only 100 tickets are available at a price of R400 per person. FOM members pay a special price of R350.
