On Sunday 22nd July , the Friends of Orchestral Music, in association with Bowmans, will host the second of three fundraising soirees for 2018 as part of their mandate to raise funds and awareness for orchestral music and musicians in Cape Town.

These glittering evenings take place on the 11th floor of the Bowmans’ Cape Town office, where guests will be greeted to a sunset drink overlooking the city, before settling down to a concert featuring some of South Africa’s finest rising star musicians. The Winter Soiree features violinist Jeffrey Armstrong, a FOM beneficiary currently completing his studies in Birmingham, UK. He will be joined by Joshua Louis, Stephanie Lawrenson and Seul Jung for a programme of favourite string quartets. The musicians are longtime friends- brought together through music, and they will share their stories around the pieces they have chosen with the audience- giving a unique intimacy to the evening. After the music has finished the conversation continues with drinks and sumptuous canapés created by Bowmans’ chef.

Thanks to the generous support of Bowmans, the Friends of Orchestra Music are able to bring you these unique evenings in order to raise much needed funds for the upliftment and development of orchestral music and musicians across Cape Town. It is the mandate of FOM to place specific emphasis on fostering the playing of classical music amongst the previously disadvantaged communities. All the soiree musicians chosen have been part of the projects supported by FOM and are now considered some of the finest of the new generation of classical musicians in South Africa.
