Stephen Hough has been described as a pedagogue, poet and above all, a compelling pianist. His performance has been called “the most perfect piano playing conceivable”, a “virtuoso who begins where others leave off” and he is coming to Cape Town for just one performance …to play Beethoven`s Fourth Piano Concerto Bernhard Gueller, the Principal Conductor of the CPO and Conductor Laureate of Symphony Nova Scotia in Halifax is on the podium for the CPO`s celebrity guest gala concert. Gueller, who was music director of SNS for 16 years, is bringing his experience, expertise and consummate musicianship to lead the orchestra in this all-Beethoven programme that includes Leonore Overture No. 3, Piano Concerto No.4 and Symphony No.7.  Stephen Hough has graciously allowed the CPO to open the Final dress rehearsal to the public with tickets on sale through Computicket.
