The Other Side of the Ochrestra

On Sunday 21 July, the Friends of Orchestral Music, in association with Bowmans, will host their winter sunset soiree, as part of their mandate to raise funds and awareness for orchestral music and musicians in Cape Town.

These glittering evenings take place on the 11th floor of the Bowmans’ Cape Town office, where guests will be greeted to a sunset drink overlooking the city, before settling down to a concert featuring some of South Africa’s finest musicians. Guests are invited to meet and greet the artists with drinks and delicious canapes after the concert..

The Winter Sunset Soiree features a selection of musicians from the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert called: the Other Side of the Orchestra. The programme will feature movements from works and short individual pieces that give the audience a chance to hear a unique variety of music – from double bass and trombone to viola and violin – and get to know the musicians you have often seen in the City Hall, up close in this special setting.

Thanks to the generous support of Bowmans and sponsorship from Bill van Rensburg, the Friends of Orchestra Music are able to bring you these unique evenings in order to raise much needed funds for the upliftment and development of orchestral music and musicians across Cape Town.

Only 100 tickets are available at a price of R400 per person.
FOM members pay a special price of R350.
